Embryo Transfer Instructions

Before Embryo Transfer:

  • Arrive at the hospital at the scheduled time.
  • Take the medications prescribed by the doctor on time.
  • On the day of the embryo transfer, avoid using any scented products such as perfumes, soaps, or shampoos.

Before Embryo Transfer:

  • Rest in the hospital for a while after the embryo transfer (ET).
  • Follow the instructions given by the doctor.
  • Take the medications prescribed by the doctor at the specified times daily.
  • Engage in light activities at home; avoid lifting heavy weights.
  • Eat home-cooked meals and drink plenty of water and other fluids.
  • Avoid foods high in oil, spices, and chili.
  • Refrain from having sexual intercourse with your partner.
  • Avoid stress after the ET.
  • Have a blood test for BHCG after 15 days. If there is a delay in getting the report, continue with your medications.
  • If you experience any issues, promptly visit the Hospital for a consultation.”

Instructions Before Egg Pickup (Ovum Retrieval):

  • Fast from midnight before the pickup.
  • Do not consume any food or drink in the morning.
  • Take your regular medications with 2 sips of water at 5 AM.
  • Arrive at the hospital on time.
  • Leave valuable items at home.
  • Abstain from sexual activity for 3-4 days before providing the semen sample.

Note: Bring all necessary documents with you when coming to the hospital.

Before Embryo Transfer:

  • Have a light meal after the egg pickup, such as soup, porridge, or tea, and resume normal eating and activities the next day.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe abdominal pain, bloating, reduced urine output, or excessive bleeding.
